Clinical studies have shown that results can continue to improve for up to six months.

    • What’s an Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment like?

At the first appointment, patients will have photos of the treatment area taken so that we are able to benchmark progress. We have treatment rooms equipped with a TV and healthy snacks to make the experience more comfortable. The first step is securing the applicator to the treatment area, then the process begins! Each treatment takes 20-40 minutes depending on the area.

    • Does Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment hurt?

No! Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment does not cause pain or discomfort. Patients usually say they feel a “pulling” sensation. Our aestheticians have total control of the treatment intensity, so patients are always treated at a level that is comfortable to them.

    • How is Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment different from CoolSculpting?
Results from these 2 treatments are pretty different, and hard to compare. Cool sculpting is used to target stubborn fat, where Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment is used to build and tone muscle. Patients looking for a more toned look (and who are already fairly lean) are great candidates. If patients want to reduce “pinchable” rolls of fat then they will likely be a better candidate for CoolSculpting. Most patients fall somewhere in between these two extremes, and that’s where the consultation process helps to determine which treatment is the better option.
    • Are there any risks?

Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment has been clinically tested for safety and efficacy through seven independent US-based clinical studies.

    • What is Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment recovery like?

Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment is non-invasive and requires no recovery time. It is a great option for many patients because they don’t have to prep for treatment or follow any kind of post-care plan. Some patients experience mild soreness, but nothing as intense as what you would feel from a traditional workout.

    • What is Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment?

Electromagnetic Muscle Toning Treatment is a new device in body-contouring. It is the first FDA-cleared energy device approved to burn fat and build muscle mass. Emsculpt contracts muscles beyond what is possible through voluntary effort, yielding better muscle tone and enhanced fat reduction. The process works by directing highly focused electromagnetic energy to the area, forcing the muscles to contract to 100% and holding it there for up to six seconds. The average person, no matter how strong, can only contract their muscles to their 30-35% capacity for a fraction of a second. In response to these contractions, the muscle reconstructs itself, and fat cells in the area are eliminated.

  • Infrared Sauna

    • Can I Overdo Infrared Use?

There is no right answer about how much or how often to use your sauna blanket, just like there is no right or wrong answer on how much or how often to exercise. On average, though, people tend to use them for 30-45 minutes a day at least 3-4 times a week. If you want to see results in your weight or your health. it would be best to use it every day. A good quality infrared sauna blanket used regularly alongside a well-hydrated, healthy diet will bring about results in no time!

    • What are the Benefits of Sauna Blankets?

The effects felt inside the sauna blanket are the same as in a physical sauna. The more time you spend in the sauna blanket, the more affects you will feel. It is the same as doing a moderate level of exercise; the body's response is very similar.

Your heart rate increases, your blood vessels dilate, you sweat; and because of all this, your blood circulation increases. You can feel all the same great effects in a sauna

blanket as when you exercise. Increased heart rate and sweating lead to weight loss, lower blood pressure, and better cardiac health.

There are some more significant, chronic health problems that infrared light treatment can help with, such as managing chronic heart failure, easing rheumatoid arthritis, and treating prematurely aging skin.

Aside from the obvious physical health benefits that infrared light has on our bodies, it can also have some great short-term and long-term mental health benefits. Sheer relaxation through heat therapy raises endorphins in the brain, and studies show that whole-body heat treatment can boost your mood and alleviate depression and anxiety. Cynthia Cobb, a nurse practitioner, comments on how infrared treatment can reduce muscle soreness, improving joint movement, and reducing levels of stress through relaxation. It also improves feelings of well-being through improved circulation.

    • What are Infrared Sauna Blankets?

An infrared sauna blanket is basically like a sleeping bag that heats up. Like a physical sauna, the blanket uses infrared light to heat your body directly without affecting the area around you. So, while the inside of the blanket is warm, the outside will remain cool. The temperature ranges from about 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 160 but will not feel as hot as a physical sauna. This means that you can stay inside for longer periods of time!

  • Cavitation

    • Can everyone get ultrasound cavitation fat loss treatments?

Ideal candidates for treatment will be in generally good health but moderately overweight. Patients should not be pregnant or nursing, taking anticoagulants, or have a pacemaker or other metal implants. Other conditions which can be negatively affected by Ultrasonic Cavitation include recent surgeries, current infection or infectious disease, a compromised lymph system or immunodeficiencies, and severe health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, high or low blood pressure, hemophilia or tuberculosis. If you’re not sure if you’re a good candidate for treatment, consult your physician first.

    • Does ultrasonic cavitation result in saggy skin?

While some rapid weight-loss treatments can result in sagging skin, Ultrasonic Cavitation has a firming effect on the skin and muscle tissue, including loose skin from previous weight loss efforts. Actual results will vary.

    • Are fat cavitation results immediately noticeable?

Some results will be visible immediately, but the entire process can take several days to complete (peak results are usually seen within 72 hours of treatment). Results will depend on the condition of the eliminated fat, including how long it has existed and how dense it is. Typically you can expect 1 to 2 inches of fat loss after the first treatment and up to 2 inches of loss after each subsequent treatment.

    • How much body area is treated during the procedure?

A one-hour treatment can cover a medium-sized area of your body, such as the belly, inner or outer thighs, buttocks, or your back. Smaller areas such as the chin or upper arm can be treated together. Multiple treatments on the same area are recommended for maximum effectiveness. Extra belly fat, for example, may need 3-6 treatments, while larger areas will need more.

    • How does ultrasound fat cavitation work?

During the procedure, a technician will apply a hand tool that transmits low-level ultrasonic waves to your skin. The compression-expansion impulses create micro-bubbles that enlarge, collide, and implode, producing shock waves that “leak” the content of fat cells in a process called cavitation. The waste material is then processed through the liver and released from the body through sweat and digestive elimination.

    • What is ultrasound cavitation fat loss therapy?

The Ultrasound Cavitation procedure uses ultrasound and radio waves to break down fat cells and cellulite without affecting nearby organs and cells. The disrupted fat cells will then process through the digestive system naturally. Unlike surgical fat loss treatments, with Ultrasound Cavitation there’s no pain, scarring, bleeding, and no risk of infection or downtime needed for recovery.

You’ll feel a gentle suctioning as the device pulls the skin’s fatty layer closer to the device, to maximize exposure to the infrared light and RF energy. You'll also feel a warm sensation as it causes deep heating of the connective tissue, which stimulates collagen. Let your technician know if the treatment feels too hot at any point.

“At the end of a procedure, you should feel like you’ve had a vigorous deep tissue massage. Your skin should be pink and warm to the touch,

RealSelf Tip: The treatment doesn’t require any preparation, we recommend that our clients come well hydrated. Radio waves travel through water faster—and being hydrated will make the radiofrequency portion of VelaShape more effective.

VelaShape can improve its appearance, but while there’s no permanent cellulite removal solution, other cellulite treatments get higher Worth It Ratings. See the top cellulite treatments, according to providers and RealSelf members.

Cellulite is caused by fibrous bands, called septa, that run vertically between the skin and fascia. These bands bundle fat into honeycomb-like compartments.

When they stiffen in response to hormonal shifts, they pull the skin down and compress the fat until it bulges out of these compartments, causing the appearance of dimples and pits on the skin’s surface.

VelaShape's suction and massage rollers relax the bands, while the RF energy shrinks the fat cells in the treatment area.

The combination creates a temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
    • Who makes a good candidate for VelaShape?

VelaShape works best for people who are at a healthy weight, with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 30 and mild to moderate cellulite. If your skin has some dimpling or an “orange peel” look when you’re standing up (stage 1 or 2 on the Nurnberger-Muller Cellulite Scale), you may be a good candidate.

It's not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or people with an implanted automatic defibrillator, pacemaker, or other electronic device.

If you’re taking blood thinners, you’ll need to stop taking them for at least 5 days before your treatment to reduce the risk of serious bruising.

    • What is a VelaShape treatment?

VelaShape is a noninvasive body contouring treatment that’s been cleared by the FDA for temporary cellulite reduction, as well as the circumferential reduction of the thighs and abdomen.

The most treated areas are the thighs, buttocks, upper arms, and stomach. It can also reduce excess fat and mildly sagging skin under the chin.

Unlike most cellulite treatments that use just one modality to treat the appearance of dimpled skin, this one uses a combination of four: infrared light, bipolar radiofrequency (RF) energy, mechanical massage, and gentle suction.

The suction brings the skin closer to the energy source inside the handheld device, working with the massage to help relax and stretch the stiff fibrous bands under the skin that cause the dimpling and orange peel texture known as cellulite.

The infrared and RF energies heat the skin, tightening tissue and making fat cells shrink and, in some cases, die.

The heat reduces skin laxity by tightening the existing underlying dermal collagen fibers and stimulating collagen and elastin production, which builds more firmness and elasticity over time.

VelaShape is often used for post-liposuction, to tighten the skin and speed the recovery process.
